Search history
My browser (Firefox, if you must know) is set to save the search terms I enter into Google. It's amazing how 'personal' my search history in the Google search bar is. The search terms reveal a lot about me and my life in the years since I installed Firefox. They provide insight into my needs, moods, health, interests, obsessions, likes, dislikes, and curiosities over time.
Here is an alphabetical, appended list of some interesting (and un-incriminating) search terms that I feel like sharing. I would not want to share the entire search history with anyone, not even those I am closest to.

So, as you can see, this short list is powerful in revealing a lot about me. For instance, you can tell that I am interested in computers (ACM, HTML editor), emergency medicine (EMTALA), medical informatics (genomics, JAMIA), cars (PT Cruiser, auto show, driving songs), cooking (aaloo dum, chocolate sour cream frosting recipes), and movies (eyes wide shut, usual suspects).
You can also probably tell that I admire (euphemism for 'have a crush on') actor Daniel Craig and singer Rob Thomas. You can conclude that I think I might be a workaholic and suspect that I have a Type A personality. I did not, at least on one occasion, have enough to do on a weekend and was feeling the 'blues'. You can also assume that I have read Malcolm Gladwell's book 'The Turning Point' which talks about the 'stickiness' of a message and watched the documentary 'The Shrinking Woman' which shows Connie Colburn deal with obesity and bariatric surgery.
You also learn little, idocyncratic details about me, such as the fact that I am more comfortable with the British kg than the American pound, I was anxious about driving on I-81 due to bad weather, I often doubt what use I will be able to put my PhD to, and I don't know much about wine.
Oh, and by the way, yes I do get bored with work often and resort to reading the Best of Craigslist. And if you haven't read it, you totally need to. Its awesome!
